CYC Home Page

Carlyle Yacht Club is located on beautiful Carlyle Lake, in central Illinois. Carlyle Lake is the second largest lake in Illinois, behind Lake Michigan. Our sailing area is two miles wide and ten miles long. CYC is hosted by West Access Marina, and is a member of Yacht Clubs of America.

CYC was founded in 1974 to promote sailing as a wholesome sport, and provides the facilities and organization supporting racing, cruising, education, and social activities. CYC depends on volunteers to run and direct all its programs.

CYC provides on-the water programs of interest to all boaters, including round-the buoys racing, regatta events, distance sailing, cruising, and laid back Wednesday Navy events. Off the water events include social events, lectures, and presentations on subjects of interest to boaters.

CYC's calendar year begins early with pre-season social events, continues throughout the sailing season (April - October) with an action-packed schedule, and ends with a combined Change of Watch Meeting and Holiday party on November 19th.
