CYC membership is yearly, from April through March. Although our membership drive is typically in early spring, we accept new members at any time of the year. Anyone with an interest in boating and sailing can become a member of CYC.

There are two types of memberships: Active and Affiliate.

Active memberhip is for boat owners with a seasonal assigned space on Carlyle Lake (at any Lake facility). Active membership entitles the member to CYC social events, Cruising Fleet events, the CYC web site, newsletter and email updates, classified ad postings, and facility privileges for the member, spouse, and children under 18. An active member is entitled to one vote.

Affiliate membership does not require boat ownership, and is perfect for crew members or others with an interest in boating on Carlyle lake. Any person without a seasonal assigned space at Carlyle Lake is eligible, and is entitled to CYC social events, CYC web site, newsletter and email updates.

Two racing programs and racing fee structures are offered at CYC: The Round the Buoys program, and the Distance Sailing Program.

The Round the Buoys Racing Program is for Active CYC members. The fee entitles the member to participate in all CYC Round the Buoys events (spinnaker and non-spinnaker), all Distance Sailing Events, Wednesday Navy Events, and Hare and Hound events.

Distance Sailing Program is for Active members of CYC or any other club on Carlyle Lake. The fee entitles the member to participate in Distance Sailing Program events only.
